WhakaariWhite
WhakaariWhite is the former name of a significant geothermal feature located in New Zealand. The name itself combines "Whakaari," the Māori name for the island where it is situated, and "White," referring to the prominent white steam and sulfurous deposits characteristic of the active volcano. Whakaari, also known as White Island, is an active stratovolcano that rises 1,600 meters above the seafloor and is the most active cone volcano in New Zealand.
The geothermal activity at WhakaariWhite is driven by a shallow magma chamber. This results in continuous emissions
WhakaariWhite has been the subject of extensive geological study due to its accessible and active geothermal
