Washingtonium
Washingtonium is a hypothetical chemical element. It has the symbol Ws and atomic number 172. Its existence has not been confirmed by the scientific community, and it is not listed on the periodic table of elements. The concept of Washingtonium appears in some fictional works and discussions within speculative science. Theoretical predictions for the properties of elements with atomic numbers beyond those currently discovered vary. If synthesized, Washingtonium would likely be a superheavy element, belonging to the transactinide series. Such elements are typically produced in particle accelerators and are characterized by extreme instability, decaying very rapidly into lighter elements. The research into superheavy elements aims to understand the limits of nuclear stability and to probe the electronic structure of atoms with a large number of protons. There is no current experimental evidence to suggest that Washingtonium has been created or observed.
