Wahlhelfern

Wahlhelfer are volunteers who assist in the administration of elections in German-speaking countries, usually working at polling stations on election day to support the official election staff. They receive training on procedures, privacy, and neutrality, and sign declarations of impartiality. Age requirements vary by jurisdiction; in Germany, many roles require participants to be at least 16 or 18 years old. Compensation ranges from voluntary service to a small allowance depending on the region.
