Waeret is a major river in the fictional continent of Aeloria. It originates in the Frostreach Mountains in the north and flows generally southward for about 780 kilometers before emptying into the Silver Sea. The river’s basin includes riverine wetlands, temperate forests, and agricultural lands that support several towns and villages.

Etymology and naming conventions suggest the name Waeret derives from the old Aeloric language, thought to mean “silver current” or “twisting water.” The term appears in administrative records from the early dynastic period and in regional oral histories, where the river is a recurrent motif in lore and geography.

Geography and hydrology: Waeret’s headwaters form in glacial-fed streams within the Frostreach Range. The middle course is braided, and the lower river broadens into a wide floodplain. It is fed by three principal tributaries—Larkden, Myrr, and Kesh—before reaching a delta near Vella Point.
