Võlakandjate

Võlakandjate is an Estonian term that translates to "debt holders" or "creditors." It refers to individuals, companies, or institutions that are owed money by another party. In essence, a võlakandja is a lender or a party to whom a debt is due.

The relationship between a võlakandja and a võlgnik (debtor) is a fundamental aspect of financial and commercial transactions. When a loan is issued, a bond is purchased, or any credit is extended, the entity providing the funds becomes a võlakandja. This position grants them certain rights, primarily the right to receive repayment of the principal amount along with any agreed-upon interest.
