Vægir
Vægir is a mythological creature found in Norse sagas, often described as a monstrous, whale-like sea beast. Its name is thought to derive from the Old Norse word "vægr," meaning "receptive" or "yielding," though its nature is anything but yielding. Vægir is depicted as an immense leviathan, capable of engulfing ships and causing great destruction to seafarers.
