Våtzoner, translated from Swedish as "wet zones," refers to areas within a landscape designed to temporarily hold and manage stormwater runoff. These zones are characterized by their ability to saturate during rainfall events and then gradually release the stored water. The primary purpose of våtzoner is to mitigate the negative impacts of urban and agricultural development on water systems, such as reducing flooding and improving water quality.
