Vårmånad

Vårmånad is a Swedish term used to describe a month associated with spring. The word combines vår (spring) with månad (month). In everyday language it is most commonly used to refer to March as the onset of spring, though in some contexts April may be included as part of the vårmånad depending on regional weather and tradition. In meteorology, spring is defined as March–May, while astronomical spring begins with the vernal equinox around March 20–21. Consequently, the exact scope of the vårmånad can vary.

Weather and nature in the vårmånad typically include longer days, rising temperatures, thawing snow, and signs of plant and animal activity. Snow cover often persists into March in northern areas, but by late March or April many regions show budding trees, migrating birds, and spring flowers.
