Vuositasoon is a Finnish term used in economics and statistics to describe the conversion of a periodical figure into an annual equivalent. The word combines vuosi (year) and tasoon (to the level), signaling that the figure is adjusted to reflect a full year rather than the shorter reporting period. The term is common in financial reporting, market analysis, and data presentation when it is useful to compare performance across periods of different lengths.

In practice, vuositasoon is achieved by annualizing the data. A straightforward method is to multiply a quarterly figure by four or a monthly figure by twelve. More accurate annualization may involve compounding growth or adjusting for seasonality; in those cases the approach may yield different results from simple multiplication. Analysts typically disclose the method used and the underlying assumptions, as annualized figures assume that the observed rate will continue for the entire year, which may not hold in practice.

Examples: If quarterly revenue is 50 million euros, the simple vuositasoon projection is 200 million euros for the year. If a monthly metric grows at 2% per month, the annualized growth is approximately 26.8% (1.02^12 - 1), not 24% from simple multiplication.
