Vuosaari

Vuosaari is a district and island in eastern Helsinki, Finland. It is located approximately 15 kilometers east of the city center. Historically, Vuosaari was an archipelago, but through land reclamation, it has been connected to the mainland. The area is known for its diverse landscape, featuring rocky shores, sandy beaches, and wooded areas.

The population of Vuosaari is approximately 38,000 residents, making it one of Helsinki's most populous districts. The district is divided into several sub-areas, including Uutela, Aurinkolahti, and Nordsjō. Aurinkolahti, in particular, is recognized for its modern architecture and seaside promenade. Uutela is a nature reserve offering walking trails and scenic views.

Vuosaari has seen significant development in recent decades, with new residential areas and infrastructure projects. The Vuosaari Harbour, one of Finland's largest cargo ports, is a major economic hub in the area. Public transportation connections to the city center are well-established, including the metro line which terminates at Vuosaari Station. The district offers various recreational opportunities, such as swimming, sailing, and hiking. It also hosts cultural events and has several parks and playgrounds.
