Vuolijoki

Vuolijoki is a former municipality in Finland. It was located in the Kainuu region, and it merged with the municipality of Kajaani on January 1, 2007. Before the merger, Vuolijoki had a population of approximately 2,500 people and an area of about 450 square kilometers. The municipality's economy was traditionally based on forestry and agriculture.

The name "Vuolijoki" translates to "flowing river" in Finnish, likely referring to the local river systems.
