Voyant

Voyant is a French adjective meaning "seeing" or "visible," derived from the verb voir (to see). In English usage, it is not common as a standalone term. The related noun "voyant" is occasionally encountered in literary contexts as part of the expression clairvoyant, or in French as "voyant" (a seer or fortune-teller) with the feminine form "voyante."

Beyond linguistic usage, Voyant also refers to Voyant Tools, a web-based text analysis environment used in digital humanities. Voyant Tools provides interactive visualizations and analytic tools for exploring large texts and corpora, including word frequency, collocations, concordances, and trends over time. Development of Voyant Tools is led by researchers Stéfan Sinclair and Geoffrey Rockwell, and the platform is open-source, accessible via voyant-tools.org and hosted on GitHub for community contributions.

Outside these uses, the term is largely encountered in French or as part of proper nouns, rather than as a common English word.
