Vooluhulgamõõturi

Vooluhulgamõõtur is an Estonian term that translates to "flow meter" in English. A flow meter is an instrument used to measure the speed or quantity of a moving fluid, either liquid or gas. These devices are crucial in a wide variety of industries, including manufacturing, water treatment, petrochemicals, and HVAC systems, for process control, monitoring, and billing.

There are several types of flow meters, each operating on different principles. Electromagnetic flow meters, for instance, utilize Faraday's law of induction to measure the flow of conductive liquids. Turbine flow meters rely on the kinetic energy of the fluid to spin a rotor, with the rotation speed proportional to the flow rate. Ultrasonic flow meters use sound waves to detect flow, either by measuring the time it takes for sound to travel with or against the flow (transit-time) or by measuring the frequency shift of sound waves caused by the moving fluid (Doppler). Vortex flow meters generate vortices behind a bluff body in the flow stream, and the frequency of vortex shedding is related to the flow velocity. Differential pressure flow meters, such as orifice plates and Venturi tubes, create a pressure drop that is proportional to the flow rate. Thermal mass flow meters measure the rate of heat transfer from a heated element to the fluid, which is directly related to the mass flow rate.

The selection of a specific flow meter depends on factors such as the fluid properties (viscosity, conductivity, temperature), desired accuracy, flow rate range, pressure conditions, and cost considerations. Proper installation and calibration are essential to ensure accurate and reliable measurements from any vooluhulgamõõtur.
