Vituanese

Vituanese refers to the indigenous people and culture of the island nation of Vanuatu. Located in Melanesia in the South Pacific Ocean, Vanuatu is an archipelago composed of some 80 islands, a significant portion of which are inhabited by distinct Vituanese communities. The term "Vituanese" encompasses a broad range of ethnic groups, each with their own unique languages, customs, and traditions.

Historically, Vituanese societies were organized around kinship structures and traditional leadership systems. Over centuries, these communities developed complex social practices, art forms, and belief systems that are deeply connected to the land and sea. Languages spoken in Vanuatu are incredibly diverse, with over 100 distinct indigenous languages belonging to the Austronesian language family.

Despite these influences, many traditional practices and cultural elements have persisted. The economy relies heavily on agriculture, fishing, and increasingly, tourism, which has become a significant source of income and cultural exchange.
