Visszamutat

Visszamutat is a Hungarian verb formed with the prefix vissza- (back, again) and the verb mutat (to show, indicate). The core meaning is to direct attention backwards, i.e., to point back to something previously mentioned, cited, or established in the discourse. The term is primarily used in referential, rhetorical, or analytical contexts and is typically transitive.

Usage of visszamutat occurs mainly in academic writing, literary analysis, journalism, and editorial commentary. It can refer to a prior statement, source, or part of a text, and it can describe directing a reader’s attention to an earlier example or motif. It is not generally used for physical actions involving turning objects; for that sense Hungarian would use other expressions.
