Virheellisellä

Virheellisellä is the adessive singular form of the Finnish adjective virheellinen, meaning erroneous, faulty or incorrect. The base virheellinen is formed from virhe (error) plus the suffix -ellinen, which indicates “having the quality of” or “characterized by.” In Finnish, adjectives decline to agree with the noun they modify, so virheellinen becomes virheellisellä when describing a noun in the adessive case (on, with, or at something).

Usage and function

Virheellisellä is used to describe something that is in some way erroneous or faulty and to indicate that the described noun, in the adessive, carries or is associated with errors. It commonly appears in formal or technical contexts, such as scientific reports, data descriptions, and critical assessments. The adverb form is virheellisesti.
