Vidor

Vidor is a city in Orange County, Texas, United States. It sits in the southeastern part of the state within the Beaumont–Port Arthur metropolitan area, commonly referred to as the Golden Triangle near the Gulf Coast and the Louisiana border. The city includes residential neighborhoods, small businesses, and local services that serve its residents and nearby communities.

Vidor developed in the 20th century in connection with regional timber and oil industries and the growth of rail and road transportation in Southeast Texas. It became a distinct community as industries expanded and families settled in the area.

The city has experienced Gulf Coast weather events, including the effects of Hurricane Rita in 2005, which prompted recovery and rebuilding efforts in the broader region.
