Vetyhalogenidiins
Vetyhalogenidiins, often referred to as hydrogen halides, are a group of inorganic compounds with the general formula HX, where H represents a hydrogen atom and X represents a halogen atom (fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, or astatine). These compounds are formed when hydrogen reacts with any of the halogens. In their pure form, many hydrogen halides are gases at room temperature, but they are highly soluble in water, forming strong acidic solutions.
The most common hydrogen halide is hydrogen chloride (HCl), which is the primary component of hydrochloric acid.
Hydrogen halides are generally synthesized through direct combination of their constituent elements or by the reaction
