Vesirõhu, also known as hydrostatic pressure, is the pressure exerted by a fluid at rest due to gravity. It increases with depth and is dependent on the density of the fluid and the acceleration due to gravity. In simple terms, the deeper you go in a body of water, the more water is above you, and therefore the greater the pressure.
