Vesijohtojärjestelmä
Vesijohtojärjestelmä, or water supply system, refers to the network of infrastructure responsible for distributing potable water from a source to consumers. This system typically begins with a water source, which can be a river, lake, groundwater well, or even desalinated seawater. The water is then treated at a purification plant to remove impurities and ensure it is safe for consumption. Following treatment, the water is pumped into a distribution network consisting of pipes, reservoirs, and pumping stations.
The pipes are laid underground and are designed to carry water to homes, businesses, and public facilities.
