The Sd-arvo is derived from the physical property known as vapor resistance. It represents the equivalent thickness of a layer of still air that would offer the same resistance to water vapor diffusion as the material in question. A higher Sd-arvo indicates a greater resistance to water vapor transmission, meaning the material is less permeable. Conversely, a lower Sd-arvo signifies higher permeability.
