Vertaisarvio, also known as peer review, is a process used in academic and scientific publishing to evaluate the quality, validity, and significance of scholarly work. Before a research paper, article, or grant proposal is accepted for publication or funding, it is typically sent to several experts in the same field. These experts, or "peers," are chosen for their knowledge and experience related to the subject matter of the work being reviewed.
