These frameworks can establish requirements such as notifying authorities about a public assembly, obtaining permits for certain locations or times, and imposing time, place, or manner restrictions. Provisions may also address the use of signage, sound devices, or blocking of public thoroughfares, with authorities empowered to issue conditions, suspend, or prohibit events in exceptional cases.

Violations can lead to fines, dispersal orders, or criminal charges, depending on the severity and the jurisdiction.
