Verkhovazhsky
Verkhovazhsky is an urban-level settlement and the administrative center of Verkhovazhsky District in Vologda Oblast, Russia. It is situated on the Sukhona River, approximately 160 kilometers northeast of Vologda, the administrative center of the oblast. The settlement's history dates back to the 15th century when it was first mentioned as a village. Its strategic location on the river contributed to its development as a trading post. Over time, Verkhovazhsky grew, eventually becoming the administrative hub for the surrounding district.
