Verbmarkierung refers to the grammatical marking on verbs that conveys information about various aspects of the verb's action or state. This marking can be realized through affixes, internal vowel changes, or even separate particles, depending on the language. Common types of information encoded by verbmarkierung include tense, aspect, mood, voice, person, and number.

Tense marking indicates when the action took place relative to the moment of speaking or another point in time, such as past, present, or future.
