This is often done by pressing down on the valve stem. The primary reason for ventilsitte is to increase the contact area between the tire and the ground, which can improve traction. This is particularly useful in off-road conditions such as sand, mud, or loose gravel, where a larger footprint can prevent the vehicle from sinking.

Lowering tire pressure can also provide a smoother ride by allowing the tire to absorb bumps and uneven surfaces more effectively. However, reducing tire pressure too much can lead to several disadvantages.
