Velkajärjestelyasiakirjat refer to the collection of documents involved in a debt restructuring arrangement, commonly known in Finland as "velkajärjestely". These documents are crucial for formally initiating, processing, and finalizing a debt arrangement. The primary document is the application for debt arrangement, which the debtor submits to the district court. This application details the debtor's financial situation, including income, expenses, assets, and all outstanding debts. It must also outline a proposed repayment plan.

Accompanying the application are supporting documents that substantiate the claims made by the debtor. These typically include income statements, tax returns, bank statements, a list of creditors with their contact information and the amounts owed, and details of any significant assets. Creditors may also be required to submit documentation regarding their claims.

During the debt arrangement process, the court may request further information or clarifications, leading to additional documentation. Once a debt arrangement plan is approved by the court, the finalized plan itself becomes a key legal document. This plan specifies the terms of repayment, including the amount to be paid, the duration of the arrangement, and how payments will be distributed among creditors. Throughout the process, all official communications between the debtor, creditors, and the court are also considered part of the velkajärjestelyasiakirjat.
