Vedenkanavina

Vedenkanavina is a term used in some hydrological and irrigation literatures to denote a network of interconnected water channels that transport, store, or discharge water within a landscape. The word is often interpreted as describing a system that can be natural, engineered, or a combination of both, and it appears in regional water-management studies where channel networks underpin irrigation, drainage, or flood-control schemes.

A vedenkanavina network typically comprises canals or ditches, drainage channels, gates or weirs, pump stations, and culverts. Water movement may be gravity-driven or assisted by pumping.
