Vasopresiinia
Vasopresiinia, also known as antidiuretic hormone (ADH) or arginine vasopressin (AVP), is a peptide hormone produced by the hypothalamus and released by the posterior pituitary gland. Its primary function is to regulate water balance in the body by increasing the reabsorption of water in the kidneys. When the body is dehydrated or blood pressure is low, vasopresiinia is released into the bloodstream. It acts on the collecting ducts and distal tubules of the nephrons, increasing their permeability to water. This allows more water to be reabsorbed from the filtrate back into the blood, thus concentrating the urine and reducing water loss.
