Varjoteoria

Varjoteoria is a philosophical concept that originated in ancient Greece, specifically in the works of philosophers such as Epicurus and Lucretius. The core idea of varjoteoria is the rejection of any notion of chance or coincidence as a force that governs the universe. This perspective posits that everything that occurs in the world is the result of antecedent causes, and that the universe operates according to deterministic principles.

According to varjoteoria, the universe is a vast, interconnected web of cause and effect, where every event is the inevitable outcome of preceding events. This perspective eliminates the role of chance and randomness, instead, claiming that the course of events follows set patterns and rules that have existed from eternity past.

A key feature of varjoteoria is the notion of causal necessity, which holds that the course of events is determined and cannot deviate from the predictability of recorded custom. This concept implies that it is not possible to be unpredetermined, and that everything that occurs is the end of an exhaustive prophecy.

The ideas behind varjoteoria were ahead of their time and put forward some arguments used by more modern philosophical and scientific concepts such as causality or determinism. Some researchers have linked varjoteoria to platonic or harsh philosophy, a reflection of Epicureanism, another philosophical school of Ancient Greece.
