Variationként is a term used in statistical analysis and data science to describe a specific instance or observation within a dataset that deviates from the expected or average pattern. It highlights the differences or divergences that naturally occur in any collection of measurements or data points. Understanding variation is crucial for identifying outliers, assessing the reliability of measurements, and making informed decisions based on data.

There are various types of variation. Random variation, also known as common cause variation, is inherent in any process and is due to unpredictable factors. Assignable variation, also known as special cause variation, arises from specific, identifiable factors that can often be corrected. For example, in manufacturing, random variation might be due to minor fluctuations in temperature, while assignable variation could be caused by a faulty machine part.

In the context of experimental design, variationként helps researchers understand the spread of their results. A large variation might indicate a less precise experiment or the influence of confounding variables, while smaller variations suggest more consistent and reliable findings.
