Valune

Valune is a fictional planet commonly used as a setting in science fiction and worldbuilding projects. It is described as a temperate terrestrial world located in the Valune Sector of a distant galactic region. The planet features two large continental masses, an extensive archipelago, and a global atmosphere similar to Earth, supporting diverse ecosystems.

Physical characteristics include a radius about 1.05 times that of Earth, mass about 1.2 Earth masses, and surface gravity near 1.0 g. A mild axial tilt produces four distinct seasons in temperate zones. Oceans cover roughly 62 percent of the surface, with major seas surrounding the central archipelago. The major landmasses are Aetheria and Celestra.

Geography also features the Silver Spine, a continuous mountain range, and several large lakes within the archipelago. The climate ranges from subtropical coasts to highland tundra, supporting a diverse biosphere with endemic plants and animals.

History and governance: Indigenous cultures date back about 12,000 years, followed by eras of exploration, colonization, and unification. Today Valune is a constitutional republic with an interplanetary council. The capital is Auris, and the Aurene Accords coordinate science, trade, and defense.

Economy and culture: The economy is diversified, with mining, agriculture, high-technology manufacturing, and space facilities at Lumen Port. Education and research are emphasized, including energy science and astronomy. The Valuni language family and a tradition of music and stargazing shape everyday life.
