Valopöytä, often translated as light table or lightbox, is a translucent surface used for viewing transparencies or illuminating artwork from below. Typically, a valopöytä consists of a flat, smooth surface, usually made of glass or a frosted acrylic material, backed by a light source. This light source can be incandescent bulbs, fluorescent tubes, or more recently, energy-efficient LEDs.
