Valonvärilämpötila

Valonvärilämpötila refers to the color of light emitted by an idealized light source, known as a black body, when heated to a certain temperature. This temperature is measured in Kelvin (K). The concept is used to describe the perceived color of light sources, such as incandescent bulbs, LEDs, and daylight.

When a black body is heated, it begins to emit light. At lower temperatures, the emitted light appears reddish. As the temperature increases, the light shifts through orange, yellow, and eventually to white and bluish-white. For example, a typical incandescent light bulb might have a color temperature of around 2700 K, producing a warm, yellowish light. Daylight, on the other hand, can vary significantly. Overcast daylight might be around 6500 K, appearing cooler and bluer.

It's important to understand that color temperature is a descriptive term and not a measure of the actual heat of the light source. A higher Kelvin value indicates a bluer light, while a lower Kelvin value indicates a redder or warmer light. This concept is widely used in photography, videography, interior design, and lighting industries to achieve specific moods and visual effects. Matching light sources with similar color temperatures is crucial for accurate color reproduction and a cohesive visual environment.
