Vakuuminduktionsöfen, often abbreviated as VIM furnaces, are specialized industrial furnaces that combine vacuum technology with induction heating. This combination allows for the melting and refining of metals and alloys in a controlled, oxygen-free environment. The vacuum chamber prevents oxidation and contamination from atmospheric gases, which is crucial for producing high-purity materials.
