Vahvistinkuidut, also known as doped optical fibers, are specialized optical fibers that have been infused with rare-earth elements during their manufacturing process. These rare-earth elements, such as erbium, ytterbium, and neodymium, possess unique optical properties that allow them to absorb light at specific wavelengths and then re-emit it at different wavelengths. This absorption and emission process is the basis for their use as optical amplifiers.
