Vahanka

Vahanka is a coastal town and municipality in the fictional nation of Nalara. It is located on the southern shore of the Nalara peninsula, facing the Luma Sea, and is the administrative seat of Vahanka District.

Covering approximately 28 square kilometers, the town features a mixed rocky shoreline and sandy beaches. The climate is tropical monsoon, with a wet season from May to October and warm, dry conditions the rest of the year.

Vahanka developed as a fishing port in the medieval era, growing through trade in timber, spice, and rice. It gained municipal status in the 18th century and expanded modestly in the 20th century with road and port improvements.

The local economy centers on fishing and fish processing, with growing tourism and light manufacture. The harbor hosts weekly markets and ferry services to nearby islands.

Population is around 14,000 to 15,000. The community is ethnically diverse, with Nalara-language speakers forming the plurality; other languages are spoken in minority communities. Local culture emphasizes coastal cuisine and an annual sea festival.

Vahanka is governed by a 15-member municipal council elected for four-year terms. It is part of Nalara Province and is represented in the national assembly by elected deputies.

Notable sites include the Old Lighthouse (established 1870) and the stone-pier district, which anchor the town's historical center and tourist routes.
