This foaming process involves trapping gas within a liquid or solid matrix, resulting in a material with significantly reduced density and altered physical properties. The primary function of a vaahtoantaja is to facilitate the formation and stabilization of bubbles or cells within the host material during its manufacturing or processing.

These agents can be categorized based on their mechanism of action.
