VMRODPMNE
VMRO-DPMNE, an acronym for Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization – Democratic Party for Macedonian National Unity, is one of the two major political parties in North Macedonia. It is a centre-right political party advocating for Macedonian nationalism and conservative policies. The party was founded in 1990 as a successor to the historical VMRO organization. VMRO-DPMNE has been a dominant force in North Macedonian politics since the country's independence, serving in government on multiple occasions. Its political platform typically emphasizes national sovereignty, economic liberalism, and strong ties with Western institutions, though with a focus on preserving national identity. The party has historically been a proponent of European Union and NATO membership for North Macedonia. Its electoral support tends to be strongest among ethnic Macedonians. VMRO-DPMNE has also been involved in significant political debates and transitions within the country.
