Võrgukorrosioon

Võrgukorrosioon refers to the phenomenon of corrosion that occurs on metal surfaces within an electrical network or grid. This type of corrosion is distinct from general atmospheric corrosion because it is influenced by stray electrical currents. These currents can originate from various sources, including faulty insulation, grounding systems, or alternating current (AC) power lines. When a metal structure, such as a pipeline or reinforcing steel in concrete, is part of an electrical circuit, it can act as an anode or cathode. If it acts as an anode, it will corrode, with metal ions dissolving into the surrounding electrolyte (e.g., soil moisture).
