Väriainehiukkasia
Väriainehiukkasia, or pigment particles, are minuscule solid particles that impart color to a substance. Unlike dyes, which are soluble in their medium, pigments are insoluble. This insolubility is a key characteristic that defines their behavior and application. Pigment particles are typically inorganic or organic compounds, ranging in size from a few nanometers to several micrometers. Their color arises from selective absorption and reflection of visible light. When light strikes a pigment particle, certain wavelengths are absorbed, while others are reflected or transmitted, and it is the reflected wavelengths that we perceive as color.
The properties of pigment particles, such as size, shape, and chemical composition, significantly influence the color's
Väriainehiukkasia are found in a wide array of applications, including paints, inks, plastics, cosmetics, and textiles.
