Universiade

The Universiade, also known as the World University Games, is an international multi-sport event organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). It is the second largest multi-sport event in the world, after the Olympic Games. The Universiade is open to university athletes who meet specific eligibility criteria. It features a variety of sports, including both compulsory and optional disciplines.

The Universiade has a summer edition and a winter edition, held in alternating years. The host city for each Universiade is selected through a bidding process managed by FISU. The first Universiade was held in 1923 in Paris, France.
