Ulkoplaneetoilla

Ulkoplaneetoilla, or "exoplanets" in English, are planets that orbit stars outside our own solar system. The discovery of exoplanets has revolutionized our understanding of the universe and the potential for life beyond Earth. The first confirmed detection of an exoplanet occurred in 1992, and since then, thousands have been identified using various detection methods, including the transit method, radial velocity method, and direct imaging.

Future missions, such as the James Webb Space Telescope and the European Space Agency's PLATO mission, aim to further characterize exoplanet atmospheres and search for biosignatures.
