Ulatitude
Ulatitude is a term used in the context of global positioning systems (GPS) and geographic information systems (GIS) to describe the angular distance of a point north or south of the Earth's equator. It is measured in degrees, with the equator serving as the reference point (0 degrees). Positive values indicate latitudes north of the equator, while negative values indicate latitudes south of the equator. The maximum value for latitude is 90 degrees north or south, which corresponds to the North and South Poles, respectively. Latitude is one of the two coordinates used to specify a location on the Earth's surface, the other being longitude. Together, latitude and longitude form a global grid system that enables precise location determination. The concept of latitude has been historically significant in navigation, cartography, and various scientific disciplines.
