Uden

Uden may refer to more than one sense. In Danish, uden is a common preposition meaning without; it appears in everyday phrases such as uden dig (without you). The word occurs across Danish grammar and literature as a negation or absence marker.

Uden is also the name of a town in the Netherlands, located in the province of North Brabant. It was a separate municipality until 2022, when it merged with the neighboring municipality of Landerd to form the new municipality of Maashorst. The town lies in a rural, agricultural region and serves as a local center for commerce and services. The surrounding area is characterized by farmland, small forests, and residential neighborhoods. Uden has a historic town center with a market square, churches, and traditional Dutch architecture, alongside modern amenities and small industries.
