Ubbergen

Ubbergen is a village and former municipality located in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands. It is situated in the eastern part of the country, near the German border. Historically, Ubbergen was a rural area known for its agriculture and forestry. The village itself is characterized by a traditional Dutch village layout, with a central church and surrounding houses.

In 2015, Ubbergen merged with the municipalities of Millingen aan de Rijn, Groesbeek, and the town of Ooij to form the new municipality of Berg en Dal. This administrative change consolidated several smaller local governments into a larger entity to improve efficiency and service provision. Following the merger, Ubbergen became a village within the new municipality of Berg en Dal.

The landscape around Ubbergen is notable for its natural beauty, featuring forests, hills, and the riverbed of the Rhine. This environment has contributed to the area's appeal for recreation, with opportunities for hiking and cycling.
