UVaging refers to the process of accelerated aging of materials caused by exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. This phenomenon is particularly relevant in the study of polymers, plastics, and coatings, where UV exposure can lead to significant degradation. The energy from UV photons can break chemical bonds within the material's molecular structure, initiating a chain of reactions that alter its physical and chemical properties.
