ULX

ULX is an administration mod for Garry's Mod and other Source engine multiplayer games. Its primary purpose is to provide server administrators with tools to manage players, enforce rules, and configure server behavior. ULX is typically used alongside ULib, a shared Lua library that supplies player data, authentication, and a permissions system.

Together, ULX and ULib offer a hierarchical permission model with user groups and inherited rights, a range of moderation commands (such as kicking, banning, muting, and warning players), in-game menus and chat-based commands for ease of use, and logging of administrative actions. The system can be configured through in-game menus or configuration files and supports extensions via plugins to add commands or integrations.

ULX and ULib are widely adopted in Garry's Mod communities. They are implemented as server-side Lua scripts loaded at startup, providing console and in-game access to moderation tools. Maintained by a community of contributors, ULX/ULib continue to receive updates to remain compatible with newer Garry's Mod releases and to reflect evolving moderation needs.
