UDPühendus

UDPühendus refers to a connection established using the User Datagram Protocol (UDP). UDP is a transport layer protocol in the Internet Protocol suite, known for its connectionless and unreliable nature. Unlike protocols like TCP (Transmission Control Protocol), UDP does not establish a formal connection before sending data. Instead, it simply sends datagrams, which are packets of data, to a specified destination address and port.

The primary characteristic of a UDPühendus is its speed and low overhead. Because it doesn't require the overhead of connection establishment, acknowledgments, or retransmissions, UDP is often favored in applications where speed is critical and some data loss is acceptable. Examples include streaming media (like video and audio), online gaming, and DNS (Domain Name System) lookups.

When a UDPühendus is utilized, data is sent in discrete datagrams. Each datagram is processed independently by the network. There is no guarantee that datagrams will arrive in the order they were sent, nor is there any guarantee they will arrive at all. If a datagram is lost or corrupted during transmission, UDP itself does not provide a mechanism to detect this or request a retransmission. Error checking is minimal, typically limited to a checksum for data integrity. Applications using UDP must implement their own reliability mechanisms if necessary. This makes UDPühendus suitable for scenarios where timely delivery is more important than guaranteed delivery of every single packet.
