Tüsszergés

Tüsszergés, also known as sneezing, is an involuntary expulsion of air from the lungs through the nose and mouth. It is a reflex action that helps to clear irritants from the nasal passages. The sneeze reflex is triggered when the mucous membranes in the nose are stimulated. Common triggers include dust, pollen, pepper, and strong odors.

The process of sneezing involves a deep inhalation followed by a forceful exhalation. During exhalation, the vocal cords close momentarily, creating a build-up of pressure in the chest and lungs. When the vocal cords open, the air is expelled rapidly, carrying with it mucus, irritants, and any foreign particles. The sound of a sneeze is produced by the rapid passage of air through the nasal and oral cavities.

Sneezing is a common physiological response and is not typically a cause for concern. However, frequent or severe sneezing may sometimes indicate an underlying medical condition, such as allergies, a cold, or influenza. Some individuals may also experience sneezing in response to bright lights, a phenomenon known as the photic sneeze reflex. While the exact mechanism of the photic sneeze reflex is not fully understood, it is thought to involve a misfiring of nerve signals.
